How to register as a for-profit advertiser |

Here's a step-by-step tutorial for getting registered as a for-profit advertiser to create job, volunteer and event listings on CharityVillage.com.
Important: Before you register as a for-profit organization, please carefully check our eligibility guidelines. CharityVillage.com is a niche website for Canada's nonprofit sector. We aren't a general job board. We don't want you to waste time registering if you aren't eligible to use our services.
If you want to advertise your company's products or services with banner or e-letter ads, you don't need to register here. Please visit our Supplier Advertising section for information about how to advertise your products or services.
If you think that you are eligible to advertise and want to create job, volunteer or event listings, please follow the rest of these steps.
From Main Street, click the "To Advertise Jobs" link in the "Register" section.
Once you're registered, you'll be able to:
- Create job, volunteer, and event listings
- Manage your e-letter subscriptions
- Save searches and listings
- Track your order history
1. Make sure if you're eligible to advertise here. Click the question icon.
2. Check the "For-profit / Consultant" button.
3. Click "Next"
Tell us what you'd like to advertise today so that we can help make sure you're in the correct place.
1. Select one of the following radio buttons:
- Jobs / RFPs
- Events
- Volunteer Opportunities
- My company's products / services
2. Click "Next"
1. Fill in all required fields on the "About You" tab so that we know how to reach you if there are problems with your listings.
2. Click "Next".
Notes:
If your email already exists in our system, you'll receive a message prompting you to login to your account. If you have forgotten your password, use the password reminder service.
Yep, this is a big step. It's also an important one. As mentioned earlier, we're a niche website and need to make sure that your company is a fit with our eligibility guidelines. Your responses to these questions help us assess your eligibility to advertise here. We keep your responses strictly confidential.
Please complete all of the fields:
1. Organization Name: your company name
2. Organization Focus: what's your main line of business?
3. Enter your website address if you have one.
4. Your Listings: tell us what types of listings you'd like to create (jobs, volunteer, events) and some of the typical titles for those listings (e.g. Executive Director, Fundraising Manager, Admin Assistant, Social Worker)
5. Products / Services: Briefly tell us about the products and services that you offer.
6. Approximately what percentage of your clients are nonprofit organizations?
7. Approximately what percentage of your revenue is from nonprofit organizations?
8. Associations: What, if any, associations does your company belong to?
9. Two references: Please share contact information for two of your nonprofit clients. We'll follow up with them to make sure that you're a fit to advertise on our site.
10. Click "Next" (pfew -- that was a long one!)
Your username will be your email address when you login.
1. Enter a password in the "Password" field and enter it again in the "Confirm Password" field.
2. Check that you agree to the terms of use and privacy policy.
3. Click the "Next" button.
Subscribe to any of our free e-letters to help keep updated about nonprofit sector trends and issues.
To subscribe, just click the check box to the left of any newsletter title.
To see the most recent issue of any e-letter (and see first-hand how great they are!), click the "See last issue" link under any title.
Click "Next".
When you reach the confirmation page, you'll be prompted to check your email to activate your account.
Open your email program and check for a message from "admin@charityvillage.com" with the subject line "Welcome to CharityVillage.com - Please activate your account".
If you don't see the message within a few minutes, check your email program's junk or spam folder.
When you receive the account activation email, click the link to activate your account.
This link will take you back to the CharityVillage.com website.
Once you've activated your account, you'll return to the CharityVillage.com website.
From the activation page, click any of the "Your Desk" links to proceed to your advertiser desk.
That's all there is to it!
From your Advertiser Desk, you can create and manage listings, save listings and searches, manage your e-letter subscriptions and account settings and find help for all of your questions.
